Sugarloaf Chicory - Heirloom!

Sugarloaf Chicory green radicchio is just delicious. A perfect 'starter' radicchio to ease into eating bitter greens as it is very light on the bitter notes. Both sweet and crunchy with large ‘loafs’ of leaves similar to romaine. We love Sugarloaf chicory best just chopped and quickly sauteed in olive oil and finished with salt. A very cold-tolerant green that does best planted in late July for a fall harvest. Holds well in the field well into the colder nights (as long as you can keep the deer off them!) 75 days to maturity.
