Jericho Lettuce
Jericho Lettuce
Lactuca sativa
This towering romaine type exhibits light green upright leaves that are crispy, juicy and sweet. Bred in Israel, it withstands hot summer heat - a plus for lettuce production during our increasingly hot summer seasons. Another classic option for caesar salad; also holds up in a sandwich or burger. This lettuce makes a reliable choice for market gardeners. 60 days to maturity.
Planting Tips
Whether seeding into a pot or directly into the garden, be sure not to bury the lettuce seed too deep. Cover the seed lightly; approximately 1/8" with loose soil and pat down gently. Keep the soil consistently moist until the plants emerge. Being heat sensitive, lettuce will usually germinate best below 24 degrees Celsius.
