Grappoli d'Iverno Tomato - Heirloom!

Solanum lycopersicum

A winter storage tomato for extending the fresh eating tomato season into early winter! This Southern Italian heirloom, 'bunches of winter' is traditionally grown and hung, on the plant, in a cool place for up to 6-7 weeks. The oval, red cherry-sized paste tomatoes are then roasted to transform the flavour (this is not a great fresh eating tomato, it needs roasting to really shine). Great on focaccia bread, pizza or pasta. Sow in mid summer for better timing of harvest of plants for hanging in fall. Indeterminate, 75-80 days to maturity.
