Czech Black Hot Pepper

This Jalapeno-type pepper bears 2-3" size fruit that ripen from black to a rich ruby red. Slightly less hot than a Jalapenos, these peppers come in between 2,000 - 5,000 on the Scovile scale. It's great eaten fresh for a bit of kick in your salsa and also nice stuffed and baked with cheese. Too many to use up and your neighbours have had their fill? Try stringing them and then hang them to dry to make hot pepper flakes or powder. This is the earliest hot pepper we grow and the plants being quite prolific, grow to 2-3' tall. Peppers can be eaten at either/both colour stages. 65 days to maturity for black fruit, 80 days to red.
