Aunt Molly's Ground Cherry - ART PACKET
Aunt Molly's Ground Cherry - ART PACKET
Physalis pruinosa
These juicy, golden fruits are packed with sweet, tropical flavours reminiscent of pineapples and are becoming a staple in the garden. Ground cherries grow inside a husk, and when ready to harvest the husks turn brown and papery and fall to the ground. Eat them right out of the husk or leave them on your counter with the husk on and they will keep for while - but if you're anything like us, they're unlikely to stay there for very long! The plants have similar growing needs as a tomato but without the need for trellising. Perfect for container growing. Deservedly, Aunt Molly’s Ground Cherry is on Slow Food USA's Ark of Taste list. 70 days to maturity.
