Abelmoschus esculentus
A popular variety, Clemson grows 4' tall plants quickly over a short period in the heat of summer that become covered in, in our opinion, some of the most beautiful cream coloured flowers. They are followed by delectable green and strongly flavoured pods. Plants are productive and spineless, a nice bonus, and are very easy to grow. 55 days to maturity.
In the kitchen
In a pan, sauté garlic, onions, tomatoes (canned or fresh) and the okra with salt and pepper and herbs of choice and allow the mix to stew for 10-15 minutes. Add hot peppers for a kick. Serve hot over rice.Certified Organic by
