An Iceberg type - and what a gem. Crispino grows easily into medium-sized, glossy green, firm heads that hold up in the field and keep well in the fridge. Whiter on the inside, juicy and with that satisfying crunch that we love about iceberg lettuces. The heads grow pretty uniformly and without much fuss or blemishes. A new farm favourite lettuce for us, until we finish developing our very own in the coming years! 65 days to maturity.
In the kitchen
Strip the outer leaves of the firm iceberg head and cut the head into quarters. Lay on a plate with cut side up and drizzle with your favourite vinaigrette or dressing and salad toppers. Honey mustard vinaigrette with good salty bacon and a roasted seed are always a hit around here.
