A unique, deep purplish-red paste tomato bred by Dr. Jim Myers at Oregon State University and released by our friends at Row 7. The fruits are quite striking on the plants, making us take special notice of them in the field. Plants are semi-determinate, and you'll know the fruits are ripe when a slight softness to the touch is detected and some red appears near the bottom. The purple color will increase with direct sunlight. This tomato was specifically bred to make into sauce and paste - it's deep, well-rounded flavour and creamy texture and the fact that it's quick to cook down really make this one a new favourite at the farm. Fruits hold very well on the plants too. Market farmers, consider growing these for your sauce-making customers! 80 days to maturity.
