Brassica oleracea
A very old heirloom variety that produces green conical-shaped heads that mature very early in the season. Heads have a nice crisp yet tender texture with a slight sweet flavour - perfect for the first fresh summer coleslaws! First listed commercially in 1868, it's making a comeback. There is still some variability in the head size and shape in this strain, and we're working to guide it towards a little bit more uniform heads with the classic cone shape. 65 days to maturity.
