Compact plants make Silverado an efficient use of space in the garden. It grows to have deeply savoyed green leaves and bright white stems. It also displays good cold tolerance and is very slow to bolt. 55 days to maturity.
In the kitchen
Chop the stems separately and sauté them with mushrooms in garlic and onions and a little white wine to start, and then add the chopped leaves. Once the leaves have wilted, take off the heat and serve with a splash a lemon juice, salt and pepper and topped with parmesan cheese.
