Spinacia oleracea
A new open pollinated variety of savoy spinach. Popeye was bred by growers at Seven Seed Farm in Oregon by letting their favourite savoy spinach varieties cross-pollinate. They then spent years selecting the best, most vigorous and delicious plants to save seed from, while keeping some variability in it. Our seed lot had been grown and selected for us by Evalisa at Root Cellar Gardens in Thunder Bay, which is better suited to growing spinach seed. 50-60 days to maturity.
